| What is CAD or CAE or CAM? Most people will reply: Computer-Aided Design or Computer-Aided Engineering or Computer-Aided Manufacturing. But at Enterprise, it means Customer-Aided Design and Customer-Aided Engineering and Customer-Aided Manufacturing. Many people know it as Simultaneous or Concurrent Engineering but that usually refers to in-house departmental functions. At Enterprise, we have advanced that concept to a whole new era of successful partnerships consisting of proactive interaction with our customers. We know that customers are good at designing and selling products, while Enterprise is good at manufacturing production fabrications. Create a partnership of these two entities very early in the product development process and the result invariably leads to higher quality, manufacturing efficiencies, and significant cost savings. We involve our loyal and independent workforce upfront where their hands-on knowledge and input is invaluable. Frequently, the before and after fabrications look different, but perform the same function and cost less. Experience has taught us that we cannot do this alone. Customer input is the key. |
Where do the cost savings come from?
Frequently, manual welding can be replaced by robotic welding.
Sometimes parts can be eliminated, replacing multiple, welded
components with single, laser-cut and formed pieces. Occasionally,
parts are completely redesigned. In all cases, success is the
result of cooperation between Enterprise and our customer.
